Daily Pill
Privacy Policy
Effective May 20, 2026.
What we collect
When you sign in to Daily Pill we receive your email address and first name from Google OAuth (or from the developer-key link we sent you, if you're an early tester). You add specialty descriptions in your own words — these are stored against your account. We log which articles we've sent you, when, and whether you marked them as useful via the 👍 / 👎 buttons. That's the whole data footprint per user.
We do not collect or store: your medical credentials, your patients, your prescribing history, or anything about your clinical practice beyond the specialty descriptions you choose to write.
How we use it
- Your specialty descriptions are sent to Anthropic to compile a PubMed query + relevance rubric and to score new articles against your interests. Anthropic processes them under their Privacy Policy; we use the API tier where, per Anthropic's policy, your content is not used to train their models.
- Your email address is used to send you the daily digest via Azure Communication Services and to identify your account on subsequent sign-ins.
- Your engagement signals (which articles you 👍/👎'd, whether the email was delivered/opened/bounced) are used to improve future picks and to populate your in-app preferences.
- Billing data (if you upgrade to a paid plan) is handled by Stripe under their Privacy Policy. We store only a Stripe customer ID + subscription status, never card details.
External sources
PubMed article data is fetched from the U.S. National Library of Medicine's E-utilities API (free, public). Patient-handout links are fetched from NLM's MedlinePlus Connect. Neither identifies you to those services; we send only your specialty query, never your identity.
Retention
We keep your account and digest history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (email us — automatic deletion UI is coming) we remove your User row and all associated specialty, digest, feedback, and usage records within 30 days. PubMed article rows themselves are global and stay in the database for everyone else's rotation.
